Patrick “P-Tow” Towery is a Board-Certified Wellness Coach, combat veteran, former UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot, professional fire eater, yoga instructor, combat sports ring announcer, and young person in long term recovery living in Oxford, MS. Pat’s journey to leading in wellness began at his rock bottom. At 19 years old, everything on the outside looked good – but on the inside, things had never been worse. He had a full ride to a prestigious school, was playing blindside flanker in a tough conference, and was involved in his residential college. Yet his days were dominated by isolation, loneliness, and anger. His drinking was out of hand, and had driven him to the depths of despair, all while putting on a mask to hide from the adults around him. On August 18th, 2010, Pat made the decision that would change his life and the lives of others. He put the bottle down.
Pat Towery’s family has deep roots in Mississippi, going back several generations on both sides of his family. His ties to Ole Miss & Oxford go back to 1939, when his paternal great grandparents moved from Thaxton and founded “The Ole Miss Service Station” (near the corner of chicken-on-a-stick). Pat served as the forwards coach of the Ole Miss Men’s Rugby Football Club for three years, and is a project manager for the “COL(R) Bobby Towery Final Mile Scholarship” for Ole Miss Army ROTC Cadets. His maternal grandmother, Kaye H. Bryant convinced Sparky Reardon to write “The Dean”. His paternal grandfather, LTC(R) Bob Towery, was the director of the Student Union at Ole Miss. His father, COL(R) Bobby Towery was a KA as an undergrad and returned later to become an Army ROTC instructor (and earn his masters). His mother, Lisa Towery, is a proud ADPi and four sport season club ticket holder for Ole Miss Athletics.
